For fans who were upset that Matt “The Hammer” Hamill’s decision loss to Michael “The Count” Bisping earlier this month at UFC 75 are going to have to wait a little bit longer to see a rematch. According to Bisping.tv, a rematch was being planned for November 27th at UFC 78 in New Jersey but Hamill opted to have surgery on his knee that he injured before the Bisping fight.
Bisping also said on his website that he too would be healing an injury on his big toe as he “stubbed it on the way o the octagon.” Whenever injuries do occur to UFC fighters, planned fights sometimes don’t always pan out. Remember Karo Parisyan’s title shot against Matt Hughes? Of course you don’t, because it never happened after Karo was forced to pull out of the fight due to an injury.
