UFC heavyweight contender Brandon Vera confirmed on Fight Network Radio Friday that he had agreed to a six-fight extension with the Las Vegas-based promotion. The charismatic 29-year-old dismantled former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir at UFC 65 in November but has not set foot inside the Octagon since. Vera (8-0, 4-0 UFC) is expected to face former UFC heavyweight title holder Tim Sylvia upon returning, possibly as early as UFC 77 in October
